Teaching approach

Technique that serves
the singer.

Healthy singing is not one sound. It is a responsive relationship between breath, coordination, language, intention, and the demands of the music. Erin’s job is to listen closely, identify what is already working, and help each singer build practical tools they can use independently.

Inside a session

Listen. Experiment.
Apply.

A session adapts to the singer and the day, while maintaining a clear path from observation to useful practice.

  1. 01

    Check in and warm up

Notice how the body and voice are responding today, then choose exercises with a purpose.

  2. 02

    Work the material

Apply technical ideas to repertoire phrase by phrase, without separating sound from meaning.

  3. 03

    Name the next step

Leave with a small set of clear priorities rather than an overwhelming list of corrections.

Common questions

Before the first
session.

Do I need previous training?

No. Coaching can begin with fundamentals or with highly specific performance goals. The starting point is the singer in the room.

What styles are a good fit?

The studio centers on musical theatre, contemporary, pop/rock, cabaret, and audition repertoire, with technical work tailored to the needs of the music.

Are remote sessions available?

Yes. Remote coaching is available for singers outside the Hudson Valley and for projects that benefit from flexible scheduling.

What should I bring?

Bring one or two pieces you care about, accompaniment or sheet music, water, and a specific question or goal. Materials and scheduling expectations are shared before the first session.
